Using natural dyes without heavy metal mordants allows us to 'walk lightly on the earth', and gives a much subtler range of colours. In addition to trying your local plants, you can now purchase our pure extracts of plant dyes which are easy to use and can result in a myriad of colours.
The beautiful photos appearing with the individual dyes are by Michele Wipplinger, and are used with permission. I highly recommend purchasing Michele's Natural Dye Instruction Booklet (see kit section) for beginners or experienced dyers.
